Stock photography is modern kitsch. The images are superficial, purely about the surface and they do not prompt us to question them further. Milan Kundera wrote: "Kitsch causes two tears to flow in quick succession. The first tear says: How nice to see children running on the grass! The second tear says: How nice to be moved, together with all mankind, by children running on the grass! It is the second tear that makes kitsch kitsch." (The Unbearable Lightness of Being). The political power of these images  is so often ignored, this series asks the viewers to take into consideration the political and cultural significance of these images which are so ubiquitous in our society.
